Monday Macro: Crystal ball time – the analysts reveal their 2024 predictions

A quick saunter through what the big institutions think will happen in the coming year. Plus I update my asset allocation table at the end

-          In terms of institutional forecasts, they all seem cautiously optimistic.

-          Robeco reckons equities face a challenge alongside tightening financial conditions.

-          DWS reckons Japanese and European equities are the most promising. They also reckon real estate equities might stage a comeback.

-          Martin Currie is really quite upbeat about the UK.

-          Pimco reckons it is time for bonds.

-          SG is reducing their Japanese equity overweight, increasing Euro Gov’t bonds; and Reducing USD weight gradually.

-          Goldman Sachs thinks the hard part is over. They expect returns in rates, credit,

-          equities and commodities to exceed cash in 2024.

-          I’ve also added a few sectors and geographies to my own asset allocation table.
